   Tyddyn Llwyn Country Hotel Porthmadog

The Tyddyn Llwyn hotel is set in the idyllic surroundings of the rolling Welsh countryside and is an ideal base, both a haven of rest for those seeking a tranquil break, and perfect or those in search of adventure and seeing the sights and scenery of this marvellous part of the country.

The hotel, owned by the Wright family, lies at the foot of the Moel Y Gest mountain, and is shrouded to the east and west by farmlands and wooded hills. This truly picturesque hotel is modern, but is imbued with an unmistakable Welshness, assisted by the use of oak beams and quarried slate.

It has 10 non-smoking bedrooms, all en-suite, including a family room that can comfortably hold a family of five. Each room boasts a colour T.V., shower or bathroom facilities, and the rooms are adorned with little luxuries, such as tea and coffee amenities.

The hotel has its own restaurant, bar and residents lounge. The Tudor bar serves a full range of wines, spirits and ales, whilst lunches and evening meals are available in the restaurant, providing the perfect setting in which to unwind after a day's sightseeing. Other than a hotel for holidaymakers, for those planning a special occasion, you could do no better than to hold a wedding reception or party in the Tyddyn Llwyn fully licensed function room, which has a seating capacity of up to 100 people.

When it comes to venturing out of the hotels 53 acres of grounds, the choice and variety of pastimes seems almost unlimited. Just down the road is the coastal resort of Porthmadog, whose attractions include a bustling picturesque harbour, museums and the wonderful narrow-gauge Ffestiniog railways.

Further up the coast are the famous Black Rock sands that stretch for miles, offering seclusion and privacy for those who wish to escape the crowds. Both beaches lead into waters that are perfect for water sports, and such activities are well catered for.

Just 8 miles away from Tyddyn Llwyn hotel is Beddgelert, the gateway to Snowdonia National Park. Snowdonia is famed for its breathtaking scenic beauty, and is a mecca for pony trekkers, ramblers and mountaineers, as well as for those who wish to take in the scenery from the comfort of their car.

There are several golf courses in easy reach including an 18 hole course 1 mile away.

Sea fishing and trout fishing are also readily available to Tyddyn Llwyn's angling guests, with the fishing harbour of Borth Y Gest a few minutes drive away.

For those wishing to roam further afield, the coastal resort of Abersoch, and the intriguing village of Portmeirion, made famous in the 60's T.V. programme 'The Prisoner' are within easy driving distance.

In addition to all this, the countryside that surrounds the Hotel Tyddyn Llwyn is dotted with ancient castles, slate quarries and beautiful gardens. Wherever you turn, there is the beauty of nature, and an abundant choice of activities.
