There is a choice of dormitories or private rooms, with full central heating, wash basins in every bedroom, personal lockers and extra storage for valuables and baggage. Common rooms include a large dining room, fully equipped kitchen, lounge/TV room with real log fires in the winter, a payphone/internet computer room, drying room, a large separate building for use as a common room/lecture room/field studies centre, with its Own changing rooms, toilets and shower, and mountain-bike/canoe storage rooms. Outside there is a large garden, with barbecues and outdoor dining in the summer, and a private car park having room for up to 20 cars, with a gate leading directly to an extensive network of woodland paths, between streams and over footbridges, suitable for walking or mountain-biking.
We welcome both the traveller who wants to just chill out in comfort for a few days, or those who want to participate in the widest choice of activities available. Whether it is trekking up Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, climbing on the nearby Tremadog rocks, exploring the rocky coves of Borth-y-Gest, or lazing on the beach at Black Rock sands, everything is close, whether you are walking, driving or using public transport. Nearby is the famous Portmeirion Italianate village, the castles of Harlech and Criccieth, and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland narrow gauge railways. Our trained staff will be happy to organise guides to take you walking, climbing and gorge traversing, and tell you how to get to centres offering white water rafting and canoeing, mountain bike hire, dry slope skiing, horse riding, golf driving range and full courses, and even llama trekking.
